Paris Hilton is keeping her promise to do more for others as she attends Life Rolls On Foundation's 4th annual Night By the Ocean auction this past Sunday where she bid on and won a $17, 500 surfing lesson with friend Jesse Billauer and Adam Sandler.
(The former pro surfer Jesse Billauer, who is now paralyzed, is the founder of Life Rolls On.)
"It's a great organization," Hilton told PEOPLE "It gives people hope and I'm really happy to be here to support Jesse."
Hilton is also using her fame to bring attention to an unknown designer, the gown worn to the gala was designed by 19-year old fashion student Jonathan Bash whom she met when he helped her pump gas.
"He said he loved me and my style and showed me 30 dresses he designed just for me. I was amazed by how incredibly talented he was," Hilton said of designer Jonathan Bash.

Two big shoots - HELP!
I'm working on my two next big shoots for Glamour magazine and I need your help!
The first shoot we're doing is Couple Makeovers - this should be amazing! Great photographer, amazing hair stylists and make-up artists, and fabulous designer clothes - all I need is the couple. Actually, six of them. Do you know anyone who would be up for this? I promise they'll walk away completely gorgeous and with a beautiful photograph. We would even fly them into NYC and put them up for a night before the shoot. If you (or anyone you know) are interested, PLEASE email photos and contact information to Madeline @ madeline_andrews@condenast.com.
The second shoot will be on YouTube celebs - I'm hoping to fly in the fabulous YouTube stars who do beauty demos - who are your favorites?
Please forward this on to everyone you know - our last makeovers were a huge success, thanks to all of you!
Diesel featured holograms on the catwalk with models at its spring/summer 2008 preview in June. Marketing as well as presentation, which can be any fanfare to draw attention to a clothing line, is part of the business of fashion.
From elite haute couture anniversary shows that garner publicity for the ready-to-wear arm of a fashion house to the comparatively more pedestrian act of attaching a celebrity’s name to a clothing label, these are methods to get a brand noticed.
However, in this video released by Diesel, the holograms steal the show. There aren’t even any good views of the clothes. Technically impressive - yes. But even if tricks or gimmicks are employed, the focus should be on the clothing, right?
For the first time, Adidas by Stella McCartney will present its new spring/summer 2008 collection at London Fashion Week. The catwalk will close the five-day event on September 20, with the sportswear line including gear for yoga, tennis, running and gymnastics.
The British Fashion Council’s chief executive, Hilary Riva told Vogue: “Adidas by Stella McCartney will add a designer sportswear dimension to London Fashion Week. It is a great collection to close what will be an exciting and busy week."
